Christopher and Kahra-lyn Cobbler were born and raised in the Windsor/Detroit area; most of their earliest theological framework was developed in the Church of God in Christ.
In the spring of 2009, Chris accepted a Branch Manager position for CitiFinancial Inc. in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. While in Yellowknife, Chris and Kahra served in various capacities at Yellowknife Church of Christ and devoted themselves to finding viable solutions for youth homelessness. They became house parents to a group of at-risk teenage girls while directing programs for the local youth centre.
Years later, Chris and Kahra moved to Calgary, Alberta where Chris was hired as an Associate Pastor at Oak Park Church of Christ. In 2016 they answered the call to return to Windsor and took on a role as senior pastor. While pastoring, Chris and Kahra managed a home for high needs kids; they were committed to seeing the community flourish. Chris and Kahra felt a deep sense of urgency to be especially attentive towards the marginalized while in Windsor, welcoming recovering addicts, impoverished families, and the like into their community.
Christopher is a graduate of Alberta Bible College, has successfully completed a Masters in Religious Education with Rochester University, and is currently working on a Doctorate of Ministry degree with Lipscomb University.
Chris and Kahra have three incredible children and are caregivers for a young man with special needs. They love God with all of their hearts and desire to see people awakened and transformed in his presence, equipped for their God-given destiny, and ultimately accept the invitation into God’s divine mission. They have a heart to build authentic relationships, cultivate missional communities, and create environments where missional hospitality can thrive.
