It also builds relationships between residents and new residents based on lessons from everyday topics.

For new speakers of English, ages 15 and up. All levels are welcome.
Come and practice your English speaking and listening skills in a relaxed setting with native English speakers, discussing a wide range of conversation topics about Canadian culture. Come and have fun and make new friends. You must be able to understand basic instructions and take part in a simple conversation.
This is a FREE drop-in class that meets weekly on Monday evenings a 7:00 pm, beginning on Monday, January 6, 2025, in the Main Foyer of Bow Valley Christian Church. Small donations will be welcomed to cover the cost of class materials.

The Chosen • Season Three

Bow Valley Christian Church | Multi-Purpose Room
This class continues from last year's Season Two Class. For intermediate and advanced levels of English.
If you enjoy exploring history and culture, this course will engage your senses. Journey to Galilee in the first century and experience history and culture come to life in the acclaimed video series, The Chosen. Put yourself in the picture as you discuss the history, culture and faith of everyday people just like you. With emphasis on vocabulary, listening, reading, writing and speaking skills, you will engage in person with native English speakers.
You don't need to taken the Season Two class. It is however strongly recommended that you watch seasons one and two which are FREE through the Chosen app. https://watch.thechosen.tv/ for your computer or The Chosen app through the Apple Store or Google Play Store on your phone.

The Class will meet weekly on Tuesday evenings, at Bow Valley Christian church, in the Multi-Purpose Room from 7:00–9:00 pm, beginning October 1, 2024 and ending April 15, 2025. (no class on December 24 and 31).

ESL Bible Study

This class is suitable for English levels from Lower Intermediate and above.
Come and join us as we begin a new study on the book of James and the topic of faith.
We will address vocabulary, reading, speaking, and listening skills. We will discuss how we can apply what we learn to our everyday lives in today’s culture.
This FREE class will meet weekly on Sunday Mornings from 9:00–10:30 am, at Bow Valley Christian Church.
Easy-to-read English Bibles will be provided if you have a Bible in your native language that would be helpful to your understanding, but not necessary.
