With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Beverly Rutherford, a devoted wife, mother, and remarkable woman whose warmth and dedication touched the lives of many. Beverly passed away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 53, leaving behind an inspiring legacy.
Born on September 7, 1971, in Bulan, Sorsogon, Philippines, Beverly was the beloved daughter of Armando Gomez and Beata Emeterio. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management in the Philippines and embarked on a life journey defined by hard work, determination, and a deep sense of purpose.
Beverly enjoyed a diverse and accomplished career spanning over a decade in hospitality and administrative roles. Her global experiences included working with prestigious organizations such as Rotana Hotels in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and Sudan, North Africa; various establishments in the Philippines; Sandman Calgary; Mark Staffing Solution; and Paramount Resources (Apache). Later, Beverly thrived as a Service & Sales Agent at WestJet, worked as an Independent Financial Advisor with Greatway Financial Inc., and ultimately transitioned to Financial Horizons - Excelsior Financial Inc.
Her contributions extended beyond her professional endeavours. Beverly passionately volunteered for organizations such as Rainbows Canada, Bow Valley Christian Church, Ronald McDonald House of Calgary, Compassion Canada & Youth with a Mission, Mustard Seed, and ACTION International, spreading kindness and generosity wherever she went.
A woman of tremendous strength, Beverly was known for her exceptional communication skills, organizational talent, and ability to lead and inspire teams. Her compassion, dependability, and selflessness left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Predeceased by her father, Armando, and her brother, Alvin, Beverly is survived by her loving husband, Kevin; her son, Isaac; her mother, Beata; her brothers Ashley (and wife Cecille) and Andro (and wife Lot); sister-in-law Maria; five nephews; two nieces; and a large extended family of cousins who brought joy to her life.
Beverly will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, and hardworking individual who embraced life with optimism and warmth. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she inspired, characterized by resilience, generosity, and unwavering love for her family.
