Bringing Two Families Into our Fellowship
What would it feel like to be a refugee and leave everything?
What would it feel like to feel unsafe?
… for yourself
… for your family
Most of us will never know or experience this reality. Learn about the two families we as Bow Valley Christian Church are sponsoring.
WORLD REFUGEE DAY
Empathy Excercise
I have no idea what it is to be a refugee. Do you?
Most of us don’t, though a few do. We invite you to join in this empathy exercise to gain a bit of insight and appreciation for what our brothers and sisters, who are refugees, experience.

Abde and Rangin
It’s a girl!
Jala has arrived safely. Mom and baby are doing well.
They are a Kurdish Christian family originally from Aleppo in Syria. They fled war and persecution because of their faith in Jesus Christ. Amidst the war, ISIS terrorists were specifically targeting Christians.
Abde lost his job in broadcasting because he talked openly about Jesus on the radio.
A, B and Z
This family is originally from Pakistan. He was always a follower and she converted from Islam to follow Jesus. Her parents are actively seeking the family to kill them because of her conversion. They have a 3 year old daughter.
Protecting their names and current location are critical for their safety.
